The big news for April is a new art exhibition from Gina Southgate! The salon is absolutely alive with her grand colours and visions. We can’t wait for you to see it. We have shown the work of over 80 artists during our 21 years without ever charging artists for their exhibitions. Gina remains not only one of the most well-known but also well-loved and we are so fortunate to have her with us once again! Viewings are possible during all open hours of the salon and there will be a celebration soon, tbc.
Based in Stoke Newington, artist Gina Southate, best known on the international jazz scene for painting live at gigs, returns to Beaucatcher to exhibit a succinct and exciting selection of recent work.
The show comprises large and smaller scale acrylics on canvas covering the full gambit of subjects within her repertoire.
Landscapes, seascapes, abstracts, still lives and live gig paintings. She curated the show to reflect the changing season, melding works that are inextricably linked by vibrancy, texture, optimism and energy.
‘We are experiencing dark times. These paintings try to serve as a symbol of hope and liberation. The current period of spring through to midsummer’s eve is my favourite time of year and though the works were painted at all times of year I believe they all convey a sense of renewal, a time where we can let our hair down and rejoice in the good’.
All the works in the show are original and unique. Beaucatcher’s generosity towards artists reflects in the pricing. If you like something you see, consider making a deposit as when it’s gone it’s gone.
