No Piro No Party exhibition from 31 January 2016

No Piro No PartyThe first artist to grace Beaucatcher’s walls in 2016 will be Andrea Pirovano, whose new exhibition opens with a private view on 31 January 2016 from 6-9pm.

NO PIRO NO PARTY is a new selection of work by Andrea, who says about himself and his work:

I am a visual artist and musician working and living in London.

I particularly like drawing ordinary people, friends and reinterpreting aspects from ordinary life. My work ranges from small-scale drawings on scraps of paper and envelopes to very large murals. I often collaborates with other artists, musicians, writers as well as concentrating on my solo work.

My drawings are impressions, almost caricatures, looking at some of the strong personalities that are drawn to the world I live in. As I get to know both the place and it’s people I am looking at things from many different angles; as a stranger, an artist, a performer and a worker.

For some time now I’ve been developing my music and performing. I started performing and recording as Pissinboy (2006) and with l’ Orchestre Du Mont-Plaisant (2011). I’ve since then been appearing regularly on Resonance FM as well as recording several BBC music sessions on Radio6.

I co-run a record label called Catapulte Records and I am responsible for most of the artwork and posters. I have been touring throughout Europe and the East. I’ve been artist in residency, either drawing pictures or playing music, twice in Ljubljana, Slovenia (2009 and 2010) Hamburg (2014) and Mainz, Germany (2015).
